What it counts

Eton’s own 2017 Pre-U table (13 rows), reproduced by Sohu on 15 October 2018. It prints percentages, not counts, and its whole-table row (381 entries) includes the PUSC Italian short course. The only whole-number counts that reproduce every printed percentage give 381 entries (D1 75, D2 122, D3 116, M1 37, M2 20, M3 10, P1 1), of which PUSC Italian is 9 (4, 1, 1, 2, 0, 1, 0). Principal Subjects only: 372 entries, D1 71, D2 121, D3 115, M1 35, M2 20, M3 9, P1 1. The D1 count, 71, matches the 71 boys with a D1 in Eton’s 2017 annual report.
