The original population includes up to three years of 16–18 study. Earlier AS awards remain included even if pupils later took A2; this is not the current Year12 AS cohort. Entry counts are qualification/subject results, not a school-wide pupil denominator. School headlines and these government cohorts can differ. No cross-source total, percentage or annual grade trend has been calculated. This publication supplies the subject entry total without individual grade rows; no absent grade has been filled with zero. This source table records subject entries only. It is distinct from the subject-result table and is not added to it.
