What do NLCS’s recorded A-level subject entries show?

The answer
The government’s 2025 completion-cohort table gives 17 subjects with entries. The largest group is Mathematics (55 entries). 10 of them have both A* and A counts printed, so an A*–A percentage can be worked out.

Read this with the answer
- These are not results-day figures, and the entries are not a count of pupils.
- These are the government’s 2025 completion-cohort entries: qualifications completed by that cohort, not necessarily exams sat in 2025. The group can include up to three years of 16–18 study.
- Each subject is taken by a different, self-selected group of pupils. Its percentages can’t show teaching quality or what one pupil would achieve.
- A grade count that wasn’t printed, or was suppressed, is not treated as zero; without it, no percentage is given.
- This is not a list of the subjects offered now. Check current subjects with the school.
- No school-wide total, match with other sources or trend across years is drawn from this subject table.
- These figures carry the record’s existing source checks, which are kept apart from background links. This edition didn’t reopen every original publication.
- The 2025 completion cohort; not the subjects on offer in 2026.
